Hours: The hall opens at 8:00 AM for vendors and entrants to set up. The show will start promptly at 9:00 AM.
Lunch: You will be able to find easy restaurants around the hall from 10-20 minutes away. We will break for lunch at about 12:30 until 1:30, or earlier. Judges possibly get free lunch depending on what divisions they judge. Awards include of 1st through 6th place ribbons, and custom rosettes for reserves and grands. There will be call backs for 1st and 2nd place horses is each class in a few divisions in a chance to take away that section (light, draft) with a champ and reserve. There will be NAN cards for 1st and 2nd placed horses in all classes. This is only an open show, no novice divisions. There will be a prize for the two overall horses that take the show away.
Table Space: The tables measure about 2.5' and 6', but they are attached to another table. Anyone entering may take the whole table, or just half (2.5'x3'). Half tables cost $30, full tables cost $50. You can buy extra half tables or full tables for $30 and $50. You are entitled to how ever many models fit on your table, but ONLY YOUR TABLE. Any extra things must be stowed under your table . Proxy showing: $1 per model, no table space. Up to 20 models. Deadline for fees will be January 15. Any entries after that will require a $10 late fee.
Allowed Model Entries: You are allowed two models per class only. Performance classes allow up to 2 entries. Any extra horses need a $1 fee, please place it under or near your horse so it can be collected when judging begins.
We would greatly appreciate raffle items and donations. At the show anyone can purchase raffle tickets and drop them into bags for a certain item! Please email me if you have a donation. When tagging your models, please tie the tags to your models leg with the horses name, gender, breed, and your initials. Please make a small card about 3.5" by 2". Neatly typed or printed, On this card, one side should have your models name and your initials. The other side should include breed and gender. (Age should be included for foals). The judges will put the models placing, if any, above the models name and place all cards in the class envelope. WHILE JUDGING, PLEASE PLACE ALL CARDS/TAGS OF YOUR MODEL BREED SIDE UP OR ELSE IT WILL NOT BE JUDGED.
Judges-there will be a folder at each divisions table with envelopes of the class to put your cards into.
If you would like results, please notify me in some way, either before or after the show. I will be emailing the results to you, or, if you want them mailed, please send an envelope with a SASE.
General Info: You may have documentation for unusual breeds/colors, but please keep them small. Space will be limited. *DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR DECORATOR CLASSES. Include things like, age, rarity, maker, run, etc. No pics please. Halters: No halter in the Breed classes, unless molded on. pony pound: if a model is left over on a table from a previous class, it will be taken when the next class begins to the "pony pound". You may claim your model at the front part of the hall, where the stage is. We will try t be careful, but we cannot take responsibility for any marks or scratches. Breed classes will be judged on conformation and if the breed fits. Also, the judges will look if your model has flaws. Performance will be judged on the realism of the tack for the specified class, as well as correct moves, form, distance etc. We now have a Peter Stone Division. Plan accordingly! Any and all sizes are welcome for each division. So stablemates are allowed in the OF breyer classes, and pebbles for Stone!
Judges: Judges will receive either half or full off their entry fee and free lunch DEPENDING on how many divisions they judge. Judges MAY NOT enter in divisions they are judging. Judges decision is FINAL. Please refrain from talking to the judge when they are judging. You may speak with them after the class is over.
Do not pick up another model. If you damage it, you take responsibility for its damage costs. The show committee and judges cannot be held responsible for any lost, broken or missing property or injury to any participants or spectators. If you or your guests cause any damage, you must pay for it. No alcohol, pets, running around, or screaming in the hall. Young children are not recommended to attend. There will be many valuable models displayed. Any damage must be paid for. Please do not be a bad sport. If it goes to extremes you will be asked to leave the show with no refund. If you have any problems please contact us immediately. Halter classes will have about 5 minutes to set up before a final call is called, then closed for judging. Performance classes allow 10 minutes of set up time.
Judging Criteria: Performance Harness – Vehicle is not required but strongly encouraged. Arabian and Native American Costume – Horse, rider and tack only. Include documentation/information cards if needed. Other Performance – Includes racing (flat and steeplechase), Polo, Circus, Vaulting, Showmanship etc. Please include an explanation card. All jumper classes require appropriate obstacle. Dressage – Appropriate fencing is required along with letter markers. Make your entry something to look at! Test level and movements not required but help. Other English: Bareback, Foxhunting, English Sidesaddle, etc. Information cards strongly encouraged. All western cattle work: Require correct cow/bovine etc. Speed games: Information card recommended if event is not obvious. Must include poles/barrels etc. depending on entry. Other Western: Horsemanship, Western Riding, Western Sidesaddle, etc.. Information cards strongly encouraged Riders are allowed. Keep your "scenes" small. Space will be limited! Maximum area of 18" x 30" with the exception of over fences, which can be 24" x 30" . Failure to comply may result in your entry being disqualified. You may only use more space IF IT IS AVAILABLE.
Halter criteria: Customs (CM): Any plastic, mass produced resin, or china model that has been altered from its original form. This includes of repaint, hair adding and changes in the plastic such as a flicked tail or a raised leg. Original Finish (OF): Any model mass produced with no alterations. Touch ups are allowed as long as they are not obvious. No etching or which markings may be adding. Such doing will lead to disqualification of the model. Artist Resin (AR): Any horse that was sculpted and produced by an artist, then cast in resin, and finished either by the sculpting artist or another artist. Original sculptures will also go in this division. China (OF): Any mass produced OF china/porcelain (Beswick, HR, Lakeshore, etc.) show here. Small limited runs produced by Horsing Around or Animal Artistry/Alchemy may show in this division. All other "OF but not made of plastic" (H & H Winners Circle resins, Northlight resins, BHR resins, Breyer resins) must be shown in this division as well.
REMINDER: CHINA AND ARTIST RESIN WILL SHOW IN ONE DIVISION UNLESS IT BECOMES TO LARGE. THEN IT WILL BE SPLIT.
